Saturday was a fun filled day! We started out the day at our ward's Easter breakfast. It was a little cold outside to be eating eggs & pancakes, but there was a pretty good turnout. From there, we went to the city park to participate in the Easter Egg "hunt."

I don't know if you have done one of these before, but they just lay all the Easter eggs out on the ground and when the whistle blows at 10:30 SHARP, then it is a mad dash for the eggs. It is over about 38 seconds after the whistle blows. Makayla had her eye on a pretty red egg that was in the field a ways. When the kids took off, she ran past all the close eggs towards that red egg, but in all the confusion, she lost sight of it and kept running to the middle of the field. By the time she got where she was going, she got to pick up 3 eggs and then they were all gone. She was sad that she didn't get more, but she was happy that one of her eggs had a $1 bill.
Later that afternoon, we got out the food coloring for some good old fashioned egg coloring. Makayla and Austin drew on them with crayons and then dyed them pretty colors. They took their time to make them all look very pretty.

Clara, Holden, and I watched their artwork. They were all ready for the Easter bunny to come and hide!

How fun! We didn't get around to coloring any eggs this year... maybe next year. It was fun to see you the other day.
Claras hair looks good here!
