Saturday was a busy day at our house. It started with Makayla going to a primary activity. She had a lot of fun there and learned about tithing. At lunchtime, we went to Austin's Aunt Jana's house for a pool party. My kids were in heaven splashing in the pool for a few hours. Makayla is getting to be quite the little fish. She always starts out a little scared of what she can do, but by the end of the day, she was jumping off the diving board and going down the slide all by herself. She did have her water wings on for most of the time, but the last jump she took from the diving board, she did without any help and without telling anyone what she was doing. Austin ran down there to help her if she needed it, but she did wonderful!
Clara loves the water! She splashed in the pool for a few hours, just having a great time. She is a regular fish. She never cared if anyone else was around her or not. She just splashed and kicked. Every once in a while, I would grab her and hold her, but she would get frustrated that she wasn't laying down and floating, so I let her do just that!
When we left home, we had to wake Holden up from his nap. I didn't think it would be a problem, but it was! Once we got to the pool, there was no consoling him at all. He was mad and everything and everybody. He didn't want to swim and he didn't want to eat.
When we got home, the power was out in the city. We didn't have a key to our house, so we were stuck outside, in just our swimsuits. It had been out for about an hour, or so, and we didn't know how long it was going to be out, so we ran to Lara and Jared's because that is where the closest key was. We decided to stop at Wendy's also for dinner, since I couldn't think of what we could eat once we got back home. When we did get home, the power was back on. Now there is a house key on my key ring, you never know when you will need it.

Later that night, we planned on going to the Saratoga Splash concert of Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband, so I wanted the kids to take a nap before we left. Since we had to run all over to get into our house, that didn't happen. The concert didn't start until 8:30, and I was hoping my kids would be good because I really wanted to enjoy this show, and they were beat from swimming and already past their bedtime. They were angels at the show. Clara sat in my lap and danced with me to the music. Holden climbed all over Austin, but was happy. Makayla also enjoyed the music. They really put on a fun show! We all agreed that the concert was much better than the fireworks that followed. Summer days can be so fun!
