Ward Campout

This weekend was our ward campout, and we had a lot of fun getting to know the people in our ward. We went up to Wallsburg, and it was beautiful up there. We got up there about 4:00 on Friday afternoon, set up our tent and got dinner ready. We had Hobo dinners, but this year, I cooked them in the oven at home, so all we had to do was heat them in the fire. I'm now convinced this is the way to go. For the first time, we weren't eating in the dark, after everyone else was done. After dinner, I put my babies to bed and we all sat around the campfire visiting and eating s'mores. We didn't get a whole lot of sleep because our air mattres didn't stay blown up, so we were sleeping on the hard ground.

On Saturday, we got up and had breakfast and cleaned up our tent. Then we just hung out and played for a while. There was a tire swing that hung over the creek that Makayla loved playing on. There were all kinds of trails that we went walking on. I'm glad that Clara has a nice wheelchair, but it isn't made for the great outdoors. There were some spots that were hard to cross with her small wheels.
Check out this moth we found, it was HUGE!! Of course, we had to get Makayla up to show her.

How fun, I am glad your weather was good. It makes all the difference when camping. I like the idea of pre-cooking your hobo dinners. I am going to store that info in the back of my mind for our next camping trip.

Looks like you are having fun with your new ward. But I wish you were still here!
