I used to not mind going to the grocery store, but lately, I HATE it! Today, I had to run for a few things, so I thought I'd hit the sale at Albertsons. With 3 kids. I decided I would get one of those funky carts that Makayla is always begging me for - you know the ones - with the car in the front that are impossible to drive. I put Clara and Makayla in the front and holden in the basket seat. Holden was freaking out because either 1.) he wanted to sit in the car part or 2.) his teeth were bugging him again (I forgot the orajel).
So we are cruising through the store trying to get the sales. I have my list from PYP because Albertson's has decided that in their ad, they now want me to come in and SEARCH for what is on sale. Like I have nothing else to do than going on a treasure hunt in the grocery store. So I have my list in hand and have to discover if what is listed on sale is actually on sale at my store - while trying to not take out the displays in this wonderful cart that steers from the middle wheels. I finally find what I want - enough of it anyway, and then, I have to watch that what is supposed to be on sale is actually ringing up that way AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH - it doesn't . I am supposed to get $5.00 back from the diapers I bought, so I have to wait in line at CS so I can get a refund. With screaming kids.
All I can say is that I am lucky that I still have 3 kids tonight. I think I'll hit the grocery store at midnight next time. I might still have some sanity left.

I am sooooo sorry. I often hit the grocery store that late. Call me and we can go together.
Yucky! we have resorted to going as a family... not the ideal but it works most of the time. I hate those truck/car carts, they should add a sign on back that says CAUTION: random weird wide turns! I like the ones at Home Depot the best if you have to drive a funky cart. :D
I too have had this wonderful experience with 3 kids at the store. I think all moms secretly hate those car carts. The kids love them. I get excited when we get to the store and they are all gone. I say in a sad voice, "oh, darn maybe next time" and then secretly smile and say, "Woo Whooo".
I am on strike with Albertson's! They never have any of there advertised things there when I go. And amen to the car carts!
