Road Trippin'

Among all the other things we did, we logged a lot of miles in the car. The kids were pretty good, considering. I didn't realize how attached Holden was to his blankets until we got to Grandma & Grandpa's house. He found one of their fleece blankets right when we got there and had to sleep with it every night. Luckily, Grandma had an extra piece of fleece that she used to make a blanket for the rest of our vacation. He had to have it every time we were in the car and every night to sleep. Thank You Grandma Carol for the sanity!Clara did OK in the car until she had been in her seat for over 10 hours straight. That's when she would start screaming and not stop. Overall, she was quite a trooper.

Makayla was the best traveler. I was a little worried, because before we left, anytime we drove for more than 10 minutes, she would always ask when we would be there. I told her before we left that I didn't want her to ask when we would be there because we would be in the car a loooooong time. Instead, she would ask every day, where we were going to be sleeping that night. She did a great job at keeping herself busy in the back with her movies, Hannah Montana and High School Musical CDs, and various toys.
We took the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge. It was a $12 toll bridge that was a bridge for a while and then we would go underground and be in a tunnel under the water. The only reason we could figure for it being that way is so the ships could get through when the road was under the water. If anyone knows another reason why, please let me know.

So I had to know, so I googled the CBBT. and no where does it directly say that is what they are for but it indirectly says that. There are also at least 2 spots where it is high enough for ships to go under in high navigation channels.

So cool you guys got to drive on one of the 7 man made wonders of the world!
